Robber’s Cave also known as “Guchhupani”, situated near Sahastradhara, is a river cave formation in Himalaya, situated around 8 km from the centre of Dehradun City in Uttarakhand state of India. The cave is about “600 metres long”, divided into two part. The cave has a maximum fall of about “10 metres”. In the central part there is a fort wall formation which is now broken. It consist of an enormously narrow gorge formed in a conglomerate limestone area on Doon Valley’s Dehra plateau.
Tapkeshwar Temple in Dehradun is also known as “Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple” and is one of the most popular temple dedicated to “Lord Shiva”. Located by the forest side, the main Shivalinga at the temple is within a natural cave. Water drops from the ceiling of the cave trickle down over the Shivalinga in a continuous downpour, making for an interesting spectacle.

How to reach the Dehradun

You can hire a cab or a taxi from the airport to reach the city which can take approx 40 – 45 min to reach the city.
By Bus : “Dehradun” is well linked to most popular cities such as “Delhi, Shimla, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Agra and Mussoorie” through Volvo, Deluxe, semi-deluxe and Uttarakhand State Transport buses.
By Train : “Dehradun” is linked by regular train services to cities “Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ujjain, Chennai and Varanasi”. The Dehradun Railway Station is situated 1-2 kilometers away from the city centre, should take you only ten minute, depending on traffic.
